First, I’m not dead. Sorry for not posting lately. I’ve been on the road a lot and I also moved to a new apartment just last weekend. Got the apartment’s Internet connection activated just last night!
This is the first ever Nomad Couch monthly report. From now on, I will be doing these at the beginning of each month. These reports serve two purposes: #1 Share with you what I’ve been up to lately so you might pick up some ideas for your own business. #2 “Record” what I’ve done online so I can look back and see how I’ve progressed. Let’s start!
Here’s a summary of the things I did last month:
Nomad Couch Blog
Published 2 blog post, wrote 2 pages and made 1 interview:
- Post: How To Build TRUST as a Nomadic Entrepreneur
- Post: 6 Essential Starting Steps Toward Location Independent Entrepreneurship (That You Really Need To Take)
- Page: Wrote Toolbox page about the online tools I use. Got great response on this one. It was the number one landing page last month (site homepage not included)!
- Page: Completely rewrote the About page. Asked and received a pile of fantastic feedback through many communities at Brazen Careerist (Blogging Ideas, WordPress Bloggers, Location Independent and others). Thank you all for your great advice and tips!
- Interview: Had interview with Clay Collins from ProjectMojave.com. We talked about digital products and Clay’s new online course called The Interactive Offer (which is basically a very advanced course on product launches). I was planning on publishing this interview on NC in June but because there was so much hassle last month, I’m publishing this this month (July).
YouTube
Set up a YouTube channel for Nomad Couch videos and interviews (actually did this in May but since this is the first ever NC report, I’ll list it here).
iTunes
Set up a iTunes podcast Channel for Nomad Couch Interviews.
Facebook
Set up a FB group about Nomadic Entrepreneurship in Finnish which I’m very excited about. 78 members have joined since 5.6.2010. There’s also a Nomad Couch FB page. Would be a thrill if you joined!
Brazen Careerist
Had many great conversations with other users about blogging, online business and location independence.
The NC post 6 Essential Starting Steps Toward Location Independent Entrepreneurship (That You Really Need To Take) also got featured at Brazen! Thank you!

MailChimp
Made some modifications to the Nomad Couch newsletter and email list registration process. I believe the whole “workflow” should be more clear now. Please tell me if there’s something you’d like me to improve on this department! If you haven’t tried MailChimp yet, I highly recommend you do it now.
Started learning more about affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing is something I don’t have too much personal experience yet so I wanted to learn more. Fortunately, Corbett Barr from ThinkTraffic.net just launched his “Affiliate Marketing For Beginners” online course which I’m participating. I’ll be making a review of his course later here at NC. Stay tuned for that. I’m also currently participating one other affiliate marketing program that Corbett recommended. That one is called Wealthy Affiliate. Pretty decent stuff so far. Corbett’s own course is not available at the moment, but Wealthy Affiliate is. If you’d like to check it out, here’s my affiliate link to the course. Like always; if you use the affiliate link, I earn commission on the sale and can spend few more coffee moments in my local coffee shop. :-)
Where Does Your Money Come From? – Earn a Living Through Location Independent Entrepreneurship And EXPERIENCE The World. – The First Nomad Couch Book
Last, but definitely not least: Started working on my very first book. This is a book that’s based on my university thesis about location independent online revenue models. This book will answer the question: “what kind of products and services location independent entrepreneurs sell to enable their own nomadic lifestyle RIGHT NOW“. I like to think this book as the No BS-Guide to Online Based Location Independent business. I’ll tell you more about this project as it progresses. Stay tuned.
That’s about it for last month. I Hope (summertime..beach..vacation..you know!) this month will be more productive and I can share more. Share on the comments what you’d like me to dig more into and I’ll make it happen! Also if there’s anything you’d like to ask about online product business and location independence, please do so in the comments. Thanks for reading!
